The Village of Roslyn Estates was chartered on June 8, 1931, to provide more direct local government control within the Village. Your Village government consists of the Mayor and four Trustees, each elected for two-year terms.
The Mayor and Trustees appoint the other Village officials, including the Village Clerk-Treasurer, Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, Attorney, Supt. of Building Department, Public Works Commissioner, Court Clerk, Parks Commissioner, Historian, the five Board of Appeals members, the five Planning Board members, and the seven Architectural Review Board members.
The Village maintains your roads, contracts for garbage collection, makes traffic regulations, and formulates and enforces the building and zoning codes. The Trustees plan the Village budget and levy taxes to provide these services.
